IB MYP Design Criterion A Strand iii Explained
A iii. analyses a range of existing products that inspire a solution to the problem in detail
First - cast a wide net and collect a wide range of existing products (moodboard)
Second - find 3-6 key products that stand out and strike a chord
Third - find a suitable method of analysis for the specific product
Fourth - use this analysis tool to analyse your 3-6 key products and present your products and analysis
Definitions
analyse = break down in order to bring out the essential elements or structure
a range = A number of different things of the same general kind.
Criterion A Strand iii Assessment
0 ~ student does not reach a standard described by any of the descriptors
3-4 ~ analyses one existing product that inspires a solution to the problem
5-6 ~ analyses a range of existing products that inspire a solution to the problem
7-8 ~ analyses a range of existing products that inspire a solution to the problem in detail
