CAD for Kids

I have used https://www.sketchup.com/ several times with students and have had mixed results. Overall, I think it is a great resources and would recommend it, however, my secondary students struggle to make it 'sing' and get frustrated. The frustration is largely due to teenagers wanting a quick result, but CAD takes a while to get the hang of it. After having just completed a unit of work with a Grade 9 where they redesign our school library, I feel there needed to be more time spent on getting the basics of the software and take them through more of the very helpful tutorials they have https://www.sketchup.com/learn and this would allow for more success and less frustration.
